DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. -- It's been more than 15 months since Andy Sigmon disappeared in Davie County but family and friends haven't given up hope of finding him.

The last time anyone saw the 24 year old was April 5, 2016 near the Cooleemee Plantation in Advance, which is more than an hour from his home in Catawba County.

Loved ones and volunteers searched the area again this weekend with a new sense of urgency. They are desperate to find answers for his mother, Gail, who's running out of time.

"In April, I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given three months to a year,” said Gail. “He has a baby sister, and I would like to have that peace of knowing before I have to leave her."
