SAN ANTONIO - The University of the Incarnate Word is introducing girls to engineering through a two week summer camp called miniGEMS.

More than 100 girls are learning computer programming and graphic design.

UIW students are leading the program with the help of the U.S. Navy's SeaPerch program, which teaches kids to build underwater robotics.

The Mini-GEMS campers are from Judson, San Antonio and Northside school districts.
