ORISKANY, N.Y. -- There was a celebration of success for a group of inmates at the Oneida County Correctional Facility on Tuesday.

Inmates received completion or graduation certificates from four different programs.

They could learn skills to apply in the workforce and tips on transitioning back to life outside.

"I learned a lot about the help that's out in the community, the support system that you can have if you're willing to work forward to go with it. I mean, you have to want the help to get the help. It's not going to be handed to you," said Shaniya Nevith, an inmate at the facility.

About 40 inmates completed the programs.
