Residents splash into summer at pools in the borough.
Some Staten Islanders headed to Lyons Pool in Tompkinsville for the second day of the N-Y-C Parks Summer pool season Friday.
Locals also got to enjoy new amenities, including the addition of palm tree cooling stations, sunscreen dispensers and four new lane lines.
Parks department officials said they're even adding an extra week of fun in the sun this summer.
"We're open to September 10th so it gives you the whole week after labor day. So it's going to be terrific," said NYC Borough Commissioner Lynda Ricciardone.
"It's great because kids can get more exercise and have more fun instead of just being stuck in the house," said Mekhi Jackson.
