Small businesses got a lesson on improving their web presence on Friday.
Google and Congressman Joe Crowley held a workshop in Astoria. The course taught small business owners how to build their own mobile-friendly website and drive people to it.
Organizers say only half of small business in Queens have a company website.
“This is a way for businesses to increase awareness of what they're doing, products and services and bring foot traffic into their stores,” said Carley Graham Garcia, head of External Affairs for Google New York City.
Ron Gelles, Co-Owner of Innova Interiors Inc. said that the course came in handy for his business.
“I know I'm a reputable company but somehow my web presence doesn't support the image that I'm trying to project so I want to improve that,” he said.
