SAN ANTONIO — If you're praying for the Spurs, or Kawhi Leonard's ankle, you're not alone.

It's no secret the Salesian Sisters of Saint John Bosco have helped the Spurs with some divine intervention over the years.

"They are a fantastic team. They have had some rough times in the sense that some players that have been hurt, but they have been bonding and getting closer and working better," said Sister Margaret.

Speaking of injuries, even the sisters admit Sunday's showdown was tough to watch.

"We were up just not in our seats, but constantly cheering for them and cheering 'til the very end. I don't know what happened at the end. But we're going to keep the faith because we love our Spurs and we love Coach Pop. He's great and he's going to help them get through this," Sister Margaret said.

Just like these Spurs, the Sisters are a team missing teammates.

"Many of the first and biggest Spurs fans have already gone to Heaven," Sister Margaret said.

This past February, Sister Rosalba died at the age of 87, a dedicated Spurs fan to the very end.

"She had put pictures and newspaper articles all over," said Sister Guadalupe.

"She'd decorate her walker and walk around on game day. Someone gave her a coyote so she had the coyote tied to her walker and it was a reminder," said Sister Margaret.

A reminder of friendship and good habits between the court and the convent.
