She's taken the world by storm in the past few weeks with millions of people from around the world glued to their computer screens. April the giraffe from Animal Adventure in Harpursville has yet to give birth to her calf, but we now have a way to support her. As Vince Briga explains, an apparel production company in Vestal is making her first official line of merchandise.

VESTAL, N.Y. -- She's quickly become one of the most famous animals in the world. April the Giraffe from Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville is expecting a calf any day now, and millions are awaiting her birth.

But with a world-wide audience, dozens of people have been creating fake websites and even producing their own merchandise -- which is in no way licensed by the park.

"With that attention, it does perk the ears of anybody who's ready to make a quick buck," said Animal Adventure Owner Jordan Patch, "so we ask our supporters, if you want to support us and really support the giraffes, and our cause and what we're doing here, stay with us. We will update you continuously on Facebook."

Animal Adventure Park has officially launched AprilTheGiraffe.com. It partnered with Zappia Athletic Products in Vestal to produce the first official merchandise of April.

Owner Daniel Cordi says he's thrilled to be part of the excitement.

"It's an honor to say the least. My staff is working extremely hard. It's a true team effort," Cordi said.

Zappia Athletic Products has processed nearly 2,000 orders from all over the world in the past 24 hours. Cordi says this is one of the biggest orders in the company's history.

"It's a massive demand. It's on level with Maine-Endwell Little League, and we might even surpass that as far as overall volume. It's global ... to be a part of two local events that are now global," said Cordi.

Cordi says he's received orders from the United Kingdom, Canada and all across the United States.

"If they just take away that shirt as a reminder of this event and how popular it become, that's our goal, and that's what we're trying to do," said Cordi.

Patch wants the public to know that these are the only official shirts for April, and the proceeds will go to help her and the park.
