If you get involved in a car crash here in the city, you can now access your report online.

The NYPD launched the Collision Report Retrieval Portal, which allows drivers involved in crashes to get copies of their reports for free.

The service also lets officers file reports electronically from the scene of a crash.

Every collision report that's been filed since October 1 has also been put in the portal.

Under the old system, drivers would have to go in person to the police precinct where their crash occurred to get a copy of their report.

City officials say that process could take hours or days to complete.
