HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Henderson County sheriff's deputies say they found a naked man in the road after a wreck who died after they used a stun gun because he charged at them while acting irrationally.
Maj. Frank Stout said in a statement that deputies were called about a wreck around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Stout says the driver was naked in the road, acting extremely irrational and non-compliant.
Stout says as deputies tried to take the man into custody, he charged at officers and a Taser was used.
Emergency medical workers checked the man and he went into arrest. He was taken to a Hendersonville hospital where he died.
The man's name has not been released.
The North Carolina Highway Patrol and the State Bureau of Investigation are handling the case.
