GREENSBORO, N.C. -- One person is dead and two others are recovering after a driver lost control of her SUV on Sunday on Interstate 85 northbound in Greensboro.
Police say the driver, 42-year-old Eden Amick, flipped the SUV several times after trying to avoid some furniture in the road near South Elm and Eugene Streets.
A front seat passenger in Amick’s vehicle, 61-year-old Donna Howell, died in crash.
Amick was taken to Moses Cone Hospital with life threatening injuries.
A third passenger was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Amick was charged with failure to maintain her lane of travel and misdemeanor death by vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
The crash closed down northbound I-85 for a short time.
