NORTH CAROLINA -- If you're renewing your driver's license, no need to brush up on your road signs anymore.
The Division of Motor Vehicles has eliminated the road sign test that asks drivers what the colors and shapes of road signs mean.
Drivers getting a license for the first time, however, will still have to take the test while those renewing in person will still have to retake the vision test.
Drivers renewing their license online had already been allowed to skip the road sign test.
The change in requirements took effect this month as part of legislation approved earlier this year.
