GREENSBORO, N.C. -- If this summer seemed remarkably hot, that's because it has been.
The National Weather Service in Raleigh says this summer's average temperature in the Greensboro area is the second hottest since 1903.
In the Raleigh area, it's been the third hottest since 1887.
That might be sweltering conditions for us but they are ideal ones for water parks like Wet 'n' Wild Emerald Pointe.
"We're a very simple business. When it's hot outside, we do well,” said Tony Brancazio, of Wet 'n' Wild. “When it's cold and rainy, we don't do well. So with a hot summer, that can tell you what we did."
Labor Day marks the last day of the season at Wet 'n' Wild.
