NORTH CAROLINA -- One North Carolina restaurant has landed on Bon Appétit’s list of The Hot 10 best new restaurants in America for 2016.
Asheville’s Buxton Hall Barbecue is ninth best restaurant in the nation, according to the recent list.
Bon Appétit calls Buxton Hall a “new-school smokehouse” with local pasture-raised pigs smoked overnight. Beyond barbecue, the food publication raves about Buxton Hall's fried chicken, mussels and side dishes.
Before choosing the top 10, Bon Appétit released 50 finalists including two other North Carolina restaurants, Death & Taxes in Raleigh and The Durham in Durham.
