GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. - A driver killed himself and another person Thursday morning in a crash in Oak Ridge.
Highway patrol says it was a little before 5:30 a.m. when Haywood Anderson Junior tried to pass a Kia in a no passing zone on Highway 68 near Peeples Road.
Anderson's BMW crashed head-on into a box truck then hit the Kia he was trying to pass.
Anderson died at the scene. The driver of the box truck he hit, Steven Stockstill, died at the hospital.
There's no word on whether the driver of the Kia was hurt.
Two other cars had mild damage from debris.
