WINSTON-SALEM -- The new school year is already bringing about a great deal of change for one university in the Triad.
Winston-Salem State University unveiled their new logo as part of their refreshed branding Friday.
The university says the shield represents the strength of the university and the arch symbolizes the history and traditions of the university.
University leaders note that the previous logo hadn't changed much since 1990.
They also say the new logo goes hand-in hand with the overall revitalization the univeristy is going through as a whole.
