UTICA, N.Y. -- Nanotechnology will soon be one of the largest manufacturing industries in the Mohawk Valley and leaders at the Utica Children's Museum want to teach children about this tiny science at a young age.

The museum held a special event Monday called "Alice in Nano-land." While visiting the museum, families were introduced to the new exhibit, "It's a Nano World." It teaches children about the parts of our world that can't be seen with the naked eye.

Many children who visited said their favorite part of the exhibit was going inside the "giant blood drop."

"So many kids learn different ways and just sitting in the classroom is a lot harder for a lot of kids so just being able to do hands on is just so much more meaningful," said Kate Howe, who visited the museum with her daughter.

"It's a Nano World" is only a temporary exhibit. It will be at the Utica Children's Museum through Labor Day Weekend.
