WILSON, N.C. -- A Wilson man is dead following a fatal house fire early Sunday morning.
Officials say the fire broke out at a home on Noland Drive shortly after 5 a.m.
Emergency crews and neighbors pulled 25-year-old Jamie Hill from the home but he died from his injuries.
Neighbors recalled their efforts as they tried to save Hill from the burning house.
"It was a gentleman sitting in the living room. So he pulled him to the door,” said neighbor Rodney Williams. “Once he pulled him to the door, I grabbed his second hand. Me and the neighbor here both pulled him out but unfortunately he was already gone."
There no word on what caused the fire but officials say the fire may have been started accidentally.
Anyone with information, however, is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (252) 243-2255.
