NATIONAL - Jacksonville Transportation Authority leaders and rider Elijh Williams met Thursday to discuss a clump of roaches found crawling around on a JTA bus.
"One was crawling on my leg," said Williams.
He also said he was grossed out and called JTA. "I contacted the bus driver and she said contact JTA and I contacted them, very rude service but he said they would investigate it."
But Williams said he still saw roaches so he wrote to JTA on Facebook.
JTA Public Relations Manager Leanna Rassler was asked why it took so long to take the bus out of service.
She said there was a miscommunication about what bus the roaches were discovered. "We were like what's going on here we need to check this out," Rassler said.
"I guess there was a miscommunication because I gave a very detailed message," Williams said.
The bus was pulled out of service and fumigated, according to JTA.
Williams said he’s glad the issue is being dealt with and hopes JTA can keep up with problems like this in the future.
