WINSTON-SALEM -- Authorities have released the names of the two people who died in a car crash in Winston-Salem on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened on the 3000 block of Old Salisbury Road as a storm system was sweeping through the area.

Police say 35-year-old Matthew Bronson, of Lexington, jumped the median and crossed over into oncoming traffic, hitting a van head-on.

Bronson and his passenger, 31-year-old Jessica Jones of Winston-Salem, both died at the scene.

The people in van are identified as Pamela and William Dana, both of Winston-Salem.

They were taken to the hospital and treated for their injuries.
