WILMINGTON -- A new nursing building at the University of North Carolina Wilmington is just one of many projects that would be funded by the proposed Connect NC. The $2 billion would fund infrastructure projects in 76 counties across the state.
N.C. State Professor of Economics Dr. Michael Walden said it's important to invest in our universities and community colleges because the changing job market will require training for occupations in technology.
"All that training needs resources. It needs state-of-the-art resources, state-of-the-art labs, start-of-the-art facilities, that's where the money will go. So again, I think there's a long-term payoff to the economy," said Dr. Walden.
