WINSTON-SALEM -- Ziggy's, one of Winston-Salem's largest and most well-known music venues, is closing.

The Winston-Salem Journal reports that the bar and music hall will close in February.

Majority owner Charles Womack is quoted as saying the building's owners decided not to renew the lease.

The club at Trade Street and MLK opened in 2011. Before that, it operated for some 15 years on Baity Street near the Winston-Salem Coliseum before closing in 2007.

There is no word yet on if the owners will open somewhere else.
