WINSTON-SALEM -- Authorities are investigating the death of man in Winston-Salem as a homicide.

23-year-old Jonathan Rosales was found dead in a wooded area near the 1200 block of Earl Street.

Police were responded to a call around 10:37 a.m. Monday morning. Medical examiners say Rosales died of a gunshot wound. Authorities do not believe the shooting took place at the location where his body was found.

He was last seen in the area of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Waughtown Street around 6 p.m. on Friday, September 11.

Police are looking for Rosales’ 1993 Buick RoadMaster, which has not been recovered. The license tag, DDX-7094, is registered in North Carolina.
