FAYETTEVILLE -- The man charged with killing Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Bordeaux pleaded guilty to her murder Friday.

Nicholas Holbert claimed he dropped Bordeaux at her apartment after leaving Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville in 2012. Her remains were discovered last year in a wooded area off River Road south of Interstate 295, a few miles from where she was last seen.

An autopsy revealed that she was struck multiple times in the face before being buried.

Bordeaux joined the military in 2011 and disappeared five months after arriving on Fort Bragg.
