CLEMMONS, N.C. -- A clean out crew began demolition preparations Wednesday at the house of horrors in Clemmons.

Garbage, debris and personal items were taken out of the Knob Hill Drive home and loaded in the back of trucks and trailers to be hauled away.

At an auction earlier this month, Wells Fargo was the sole bidder for the home and now has permits to demolish it.

“I guess it'll be a good thing,” neighbor, Ethan Motsinger said. “The house needs to go, it's all in tatters, they just need to clean it up.”

Last year the bodies of two shooting victims, Joshua Wetzler and Tommy Dean Welch were found buried in shallow graves in the backyard. Authorities charged Pazuzu Alagarad who lived in the home with his mother with Wetzler’s murder. Investigators said Alagarad’s girlfriend Amber Burch killed Welch and Krystal Matlock was charged as an accessory after the fact.

The home was declared uninhabitable in October after investigators found mold, feces, decaying animal remains and other debris throughout.

“It's a waste of a house as far as I'm concerned but from the description of what they found inside no one would want to live in it anyway,” neighbor Ron Potter said

Demolition is expected to start later this week or early next week. Wells Fargo will then turn the land over to U.S. Housing and Urban Development.
