CHARLOTTE -- New cell phone video has surfaced from a number of violent fights believed to be inside Harding University High School.

The district says the incidents happened during the past few months but this is the first time the public is seeing exactly what happened.

In the video, a number of teenagers can be seen throwing punches inside a classroom.

It goes on for about a minute before stopping, but you never see any intervention from teachers, a schools resource officer or administrators.

Another video takes place in the school courtyard. It involves dozens of students.

In that video, you can see school resource officers stepping in to try to break up the large argument.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools would not specify which incident happened on what day.

In December, 10 students were arrested following a fight at Harding. CMS says those students are no longer at the school.

There was another fight in October.

CMS did not want Time Warner Cable News to air the videos. They said doing so would just give the offenders another unnecessary moment in the spotlight.

TWC News felt the community should see exactly what happened on campus and know the district has taken action.

Many of Harding’s students and parents blame the violence on an ongoing rivalry between two groups from separate parts of town.

In the case of these newly uploaded videos, the district says it is working with YouTube to get them taken down and the student who posted them will be disciplined according to the student code of conduct.

CMS says since removing the 10 students who were arrested in December, there have been considerably fewer incidents on campus.
