Twenty-five years ago, Nicholas Green was on vacation with his family in Italy when he was shot and killed by highway robbers.

Devastated by the loss of their 7-year-old son, his parents’ only solace was the decision to donate his organs. 

Nicholas’ father, Reg Green stopped by LA Times Today to talk about ‘The Nicholas Effect,’ a phenomenon that changed Italy forever.
