A preliminary 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Wednesday morning roughly 5 miles east-southeast of Malibu, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The earthquake happened at 9:33 a.m. with a depth of about 7.5 miles, according to the USGS. It was also about 2.8 miles off Malibu Beach.

There was no immediate word of injuries or damages but the small magnitude was not one that usually causes issues.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
