A car crashed into a utility pole in Troy after leading state police on a chase.

It happened shortly before 9 p.m. at Burden Avenue and Mill Street. State troopers say they tried to pull over a car heading northbound on 787 between exits 5 and 6. That's when the driver sped off, heading into Troy and leading officers on a chase.

The driver eventually lost control, hitting a pole. Police say there were three people in the car at the time, all 16 years old or younger.

The driver was injured and taken to Albany Medical Center. So far, the driver has not been charged, but police are investigating.
