Claudine Chalfant is a North Carolina native. She grew up in Concord and graduated from North Carolina State University.
During her college years, Claudine interned at a local station, plus worked as a color-commentator on ESPN and ESPN2 for various sports competitions. Those experiences got the ball rolling!
She originally settled down with Time Warner Cable News in Raleigh as the Morning Anchor. After a few years of waking up before the rooster crows, Claudine transferred to Charlotte where she welcomes the opportunity to serve as Weekday Evening Anchor.
Claudine landed a job at Time Warner Cable News after completing assignments at Winston-Salem’s WXII-TV 12. She worked for WXII as a night beat Reporter/Fill-In Anchor. Her most memorable assignments at the station include the September 11th terrorist attacks as well as Hurricane Floyd and its aftermath. Claudine and her colleagues received an Emmy nomination for a 30-minute special program about Floyd’s floods called “Hearts and Hands."
During her time in the Piedmont Triad, things really took off. This is where Claudine became a Certified Private Pilot. Claudine hopes to one day own her own plane.
Before living and working in the Triad, Claudine spent time Down East. She worked as an Anchor/Reporter at WNCT-TV 9 in Greenville. Claudine covered everything from hurricanes to hog spills. While there, she won an Associated Press Award for Hurricane Coverage.
Claudine is thrilled to work near her hometown and be part of the Time Warner Cable News team!
