Kyleigh Panetta joined Spectrum News 1 Raleigh in February 2021 and is originally from Plainville, Connecticut.
Most recently, Kyleigh worked as a producer and reporter for four years at an ABC affiliate in Salisbury, Maryland.
She went to Manhattan College in the Bronx where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in journalism and a minor in Spanish. One of her favorite memories from college was studying abroad in Madrid for a semester.
During college, Kyleigh interned at MSNBC, Spectrum’s NY1, ABC Eyewitness News in New York City and NBC 30 Connecticut.
Kyleigh enjoys journalism because it gives her the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and immerse herself in the community.
Of the many stories Kyleigh has told, her most memorable is a three-part special series about postpartum depression. She felt honored that women trusted her to share their postpartum experiences in order to let other mothers know that they are not alone.
When she’s not working on her next story, Kyleigh enjoys cooking, spending time outside, traveling and reading. Kyleigh is excited to call Raleigh her new home and explore all the different things the area has to offer.
