Caroline Blair joined Spectrum News in January 2009 as a general assignment reporter and producer. She returned home to the Triad after a successful stint with WCTV, the CBS affiliate in Tallahassee, Florida, where she was the Southwest Georgia bureau chief.

No stranger to the area, Caroline grew up in the Triad and played basketball at UNCG while preparing for her career in broadcasting. She interned with NBC in New York and with Fox 8, WGHP in the Triad. She graduated with two bachelor's degrees in media studies and in broadcasting and cinema.

Through her experiences, Caroline has gained a passion for reporting the news and enjoys telling other people's stories.

She is an avid sports fan, cheering for her beloved Spartans and Carolina Tar Heels. She enjoys running, spending time with her family and friends and traveling around the country.

She is excited to be back in the Triangle and looks forward to bringing you reports on Spectrum News.

Here are five other things you might not know about Caroline:

  1. I am actually almost 6 feet tall-- yes, I am taller than I look on TV!  And I used that height to play Division 1 college basketball all four years at UNCG- Go Spartans!
  2. Before picking up the basketball, I was on a national championship dance team. I was quite competitive with the sport until I reached high school.
  3. My husband (also a former college athlete) and I absolutely LOVE to travel! We take trips as far away and often as possible. Australia, Curacao, Hawaii, Paris and London are a few of our favorite spots.
  4. My father was a founding member and longtime drummer for the beach music band, "The Part Time Party Time Band." They played with "The Beach Boys", "The Four Tops", and Jerry Lee Lewis to name a few. They were more recently inducted into the Beach Music Hall of Fame.
  5. While I was a jock who played basketball, volleyball and track and field in high school, I was also quite artistic. I was voted "most talented" by my peers for also taking part in Honors Theatre, Honors Chorus and playing in the band growing up.
