DALLAS — The countdown is on for the State Fair of Texas, which is 134 days away. The biggest fair in Texas announced their commemorative theme art for this year, “Texas Shines Bright.”
This year’s theme is inspired by Big Tex’s “larger than life persona," according to a statement on the fair’s website. The 55-foot tall cowboy reigns over the fair and its attendees every year, embodying Texas culture.
Big Tex has been the State Fair of Texas’ ambassador since 1952. This year’s commemorative art was captured by Texas native graphic designer and illustrator Silvia Skinner at The Matchbox Studio.
