NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Transportation announced the Logan Avenue ramp to State Route 7 northbound will be closed indefinitely as a public safety precaution.

ODOT said the closure is because of recurring slope failure.

The department said plans were in place to repair the location and construction is set to start midsummer. The slope has continued to fail since January, causing officials to close the ramp entirely until the repair project is completed.

There is not a set start date for construction, but ODOT said it will be announced when it becomes available. Through the project, a culvert under the ramp will also be replaced.

The detour for this closure is State Route 7 southbound to Commercial Avenue to return to State Route 7 north.
