OHIO — On Sunday, a six-passenger plane crashed soon after takeoff near Lancaster, Pennsylvania, but all five passengers survived the crash.

Cedarville University said among the victims were sophomore student Judah White and his family. The passengers were treated for injuries and burns resulting from the crash.

"We thank the Lord that, by God’s grace, all survived this accident," said Cedarville University President Thomas White in a news release. "However, we understand from media reports that some of the passengers are currently receiving care in a burn unit at a nearby hospital."

The university said two family members have been released from the hospital, but were not identified. Judah White, a cyber operations major from Manheim, PA, and his father, Matthew White, remained in critical condition as of Tuesday morning as confirmed by Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Burn Recovery Center.

Matthew White was the pilot and owned and operated the plane on Sunday.

"Please join me in lifting up Judah, his family, and everyone involved in this accident to the Lord," Thomas White said in a news release. "We are praying for full recoveries and for God’s peace and strength to surround them."

The fiery crash happened around 3 p.m. just south of Lancaster Airport in Manheim Township, police chief Duane Fisher told reporters

Air traffic control audio captured the pilot reporting that the aircraft "has an open door, we need to return for a landing." An air traffic controller is heard clearing the plane to land, before saying, "Pull up!" Moments later, someone can be heard saying the aircraft was "down just behind the terminal in the parking lot street area."

The FAA said it will investigate, but released a preliminary statement saying the crash was an accident.
