UVALDE, Texas — Two people were killed in a helicopter crash that happened west of Uvalde on Thursday afternoon.
The Robinson R44 helicopter crashed around 1:20 p.m. off U.S. Highway 90 west at Harris Ranch in Kinney County, according to a Facebook post by Uvalde County Constable Emmanuel Zamora.
According to a Federal Aviation Administration crash notice, the crash happened under “unknown circumstances.” Both people that were aboard the aircraft, including the pilot and one passenger, did not survive.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the fatal crash. Officials are expected to release a preliminary incident report by Friday.
Uvalde is about 80 miles west of San Antonio.
