ST LOUIS – Dozens of vintage, hand-crafted motorcycles rolled in to the City Foundry this weekend for the 13th Cycle Showcase St. Louis.
The bikes come from museums and private collections from across the country, some from Montana, New York and Florida.
Though no awards given out, being a part of this showcase transcends monetary gain in favor of the love of anything on two wheels.
Randall Noldge, the curator of Cycle Showcase, said he began the showcase because of a bad experience at a showcase in another state.
“I said, 'Hi, I’m Randy from St Louis. Where do you want my bike?' And they said, 'Just stick it there in the corner,'' said Noldge. He then went on to create the Cycle Showcase, assuing each presenter feels welcomed and their bike shown off.
“Each bike sits on a riser. We explain what makes each bike special and what makes each bike unique," he said. "When people roll a bike in that’s going to be unveiled, we get the audience in here and all the lights in the room come down on the bike. We lift that sheet off and the audience is clapping. Anybody can come to the show and not feel alienated.”
