January is recognized as National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.

If you think this is a problem that’s not occurring right now in your community, you are wrong. Believe it or not, something as economically beneficial as a big sporting event attracts traffickers because of the large crowds and all the money coming in and out.

They can hide in plain sight.

The Statewide Council on Human Trafficking is a 15-member council chaired by Attorney General Moody that builds on existing state and local partnerships to work on combating human trafficking.

What progress has the council made? How has COVID affected trafficking? What can be done to curb human trafficking? What do you need to know, and what should you be looking out for?

GUESTS:

  • Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody [R]
  • Jill Bolander Cohen, Founder & CEO, The Lifeboat Project
  • Natasha Nascimento, Founder & CEO, Redefining Refuge
