Britni McDonald has been a part of the Spectrum News Charlotte team since July of 2019. Inspired by the unique ability television news has to share stories in a visual, engaging, timely, and urgent way, Britni is dedicated to giving people a voice and raising awareness to untold stories each day she walks into the newsroom. A two-time Emmy Award winner, Britni is quite the decorated anchor/reporter. Britni is also the proud recipient of several state awards for her breaking news, photography, and continuing coverage of human trafficking.

Throughout countless stories covered over the years, some of her most memorable assignments include covering a NASA shuttle launch, the arrival of Air Force One for a presidential visit, Fidel Castro’s death, and Hurricane Irma, which earned an Associated Press Award.

A Massachusetts native and Olivet Nazarene University graduate, Britni has lived in several states across the country while following her journalistic dreams. Britni has anchored and reported in Fort Myers, FL, Richmond, VA, Madison and Milwaukee, WI, and Casper, WY. Today, Britni loves living right in the middle of the beautiful North Carolina mountains and beaches. Outside of the newsroom, Britni spends her time practicing yoga, salsa dancing, trying new restaurants, and watching movies. In fact, she hosts a weekly live movie review on Facebook.
