WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo.—A tornado touched down in rural Crawford County, Mo. before intensifying into an EF3 tornado as it tracked through Washington County, Mo, Wednesday afternoon. 

As the tornado move through areas west and north of Potosi, Mo. it took out large swaths of trees and destroyed two homes. Winds were estimated to be around 165 mph. The tornado then weakened as it moved northeast before lifting back into the cloud. 

The tornado was on the ground for 26 minutes and tracked 18.8 miles. At its largest, the twister was 200 yards in width. No injuries or fatalities were reported from this storm.

This wasn’t the only tornado that touched down on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. An EF2 tornado touched down near Greenville, Ill. causing damage to several homes. Other tornadoes were reported in southern Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky and Indiana. 

However, because of unsettled weather, survey teams in other regions have not completed their reports and the number of tornadoes from April 2 to April 3 will likely increase. Here’s a look at what storms have been surveyed so far.
