ST. LOUIS — Saint Louis Public Schools’ (SLPS) Superintendent Millicent Borishade, Ed.D., announced the picks of her eleven-member leadership cabinet.

The school board voted Borishade as the new superintendent last month after serving as interim since July.

The former superintendent was fired after a year on the job, facing scrutiny for questionable spending. A state audit is currently underway.

Cabinet members include Kimberly Johnson-Miller as chief financial officer, Laura L. McLaughlin as chief legal officer, Natasha Mitchell as chief technology officer, Charles K. Poole as executive director of communications, LaTisha Smith, Ed.D., as interim chief of student support services, among others.

“This team brings a wealth of experience, passion and innovation to Saint Louis Public Schools,” Borishade said in a statement.

“With our leadership structure in place, we are ready to implement strategic initiatives that will enhance student outcomes, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen community partnerships. Together, we are committed to ensuring that every student in SLPS has access to the highest quality education and the support needed to thrive.”

Below is a list of the remaining leadership team:

  • Katrina Hubbard, Ed.D., – director of compliance and internal audit
  • Square Watson – chief operating officer
  • Kelly Genge – fiscal controller

The press release states that Borishade and her leadership team “will focus on key district priorities, including personalized support and innovative pathways, equitable and multiple sources of data, and preparing students as college and career-ready critical thinkers.”
