ST. LOUIS — The family of a Mizzou student who was found dead in Nashville last year has filed a wrongful death suit against Delta Chi Fraternity.
According to court documents, Riley Strain's family is claiming that negligence on behalf of the fraternity lead to Riley's death. In the lawsuit, they claim the fraternity failed to keep members safe by allowing for excessive drinking on buses and not having chaperones.
The family is suing for damages, including emotional distress and funeral costs. Strain went missing in March of 2024 after being separated from his fraternity friends in Nashville.
