ST. ANN—A St. Ann mother is being held on a $75,000 cash only bond, after being charged with five felonies.
Crystal Ray faces four felonious counts of endangering a child in the first degree and one felony for resisting arrest.
Per court documents, Crystal Ray left her four children of eight, five, three, and eight months, alone at home and unsupervised when the tornado sirens went off on March 14, 2025.
St. Ann police say the kids were alone for hours in an area with brush fires, power outages, downed power lines and debris from the storm. After the police made contact with Ray, they stated in the complaint filed that she “exhibited signs of intoxication” and she hit, kicked and wrestled the officers during the arrest.
“Additionally, the defendant threated to kill the reporting party,” said a St. Ann police officer.
Ray does not currently have a hearing date scheduled as of Wednesday morning.
