ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) is searching for a driver who struck an officer on Interstate 70 near Shreve this morning. 

The officer was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said the officer's injuries are critical.

The suspect's vehicle is a 2008-2013 Cadillac CTS Sedan. There is damage on the passenger rear side and possible damage to the tailight. It was last seen with its bumpber hanging off on the eastbound express lanes. Surveillance footage spotted the driver near the Interstate 55/Interstate 44 split around 9 a.m.
