ST. LOUIS—Cara Spencer and Tishaura Jones will square off in the race for St. Louis mayor in April's general election.

Under the city’s approval voting system, voters can select as many candidates as they want in any given race, with the top two finishers advancing to next month’s election.

With all 68 polling places reporting, here are the unoffical results for the mayoral race:

  • 68%-Cara Spencer

  • 33%-Tishaura Jones

  • 25%-Michael Butler

  • 14%-Andrew Jones

In the race for mayor, incumbent Tishaura Jones is seeking a second term, opposed by alderwoman Cara Spencer, recorder of deeds Michael Butler and businessman Andrew Jones.

In the race for comptroller, incumbent Darlene Green and former alderwoman and state representative Donna Baringer and CPA will face each other in April. The candidates received 47% and 48%, respectively, both advancing to the general election. Business executive Celeste Metcalf came in third with 25%.

Of the seven aldermanic seats on the ballot this spring, only two races led to primaries.

In the 3rd ward, incumbent Shane Cohn and Dallas Adams will be on the April ballot. The district includes Dutchtown and the Mount Pleasant neighborhoods in the city’s southeast side.

In the 11th ward, incumbent Laura Keys will move on to the general election challenging Rebecca McCloud in a district that stretches from Midtown to the south and Jeff Vanderlou and O’Fallon to the north.

Two incumbent members of the board, Michael Browning (9th ward) and Pam Boyd (13th ward), ran opposed, and Matt Devoti was the only candidate to file in the fifth ward.

In the remaining races, only two candidates filed in each contest, meaning incumbent Anne Schweitzer and challenger Tony Kirchner automatically advance to the April election to decide the first ward race, while incumbent Alisha Sonnier and Cedric Redmon will decide the 7th ward race next month.
