ST CHARLES COUNTY–Registration for summer camps associated with St. Charles County Parks are now open. 

The five returning camps through the parks department include:

  • Camp Kinetic
  • Nature Camp
  • Daniel Boone Home Day Camp
  • Nature’s Canvas
  • Historic Storytelling

The parks department is partnering with county police for a new camp called "St. Charles County Youth Leadership" camp. 

St. Charles County Youth Leadership Camp

The St. Charles County Parks department and St. Charles County Police Department have partnered for a week-long camp to mentor young students. Activities have been designed to encourage leadership skills and foster community outside of the classroom. There will be hands-on law enforcement demonstrations such as CPR/Stop the Bleed training, fishing, laser tag, and more. 

Ages: 10 to 13

Dates, times and location: July 14 to July 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Broemmelsiek Park.

Cost: $125

Camp Kinetic

New amenities at the park include:

  • Pickleball
  • A new playground
  • Skating during designated times

Campers should bring their own helmet, wheels, water, and lunch.

Ages: 7 to 11

Dates, times and location: June 2 to June 6; June 9 to June 13; June 16 to June 20; June 23 to June 27. All will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Camp Kinetic.

Nature Camp at Quail Ridge Park

A week long adventure at Quail Ridge Park has half-day campers exploring the outdoors. They’ll use hands-on experimental activities as well as sensory awareness and science to interact with the environment. Hiking, plant and animal identification, water ecology and conservation are among topics covered during camp. 

Ages 7 -11 for the first session. Ages 10-13 for the second session.

Dates, times and location: June 9 to June 13 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Quail Ridge Park.

Cost: $75

Daniel Boone Home Day Camp

Campers can discover the frontier by feeling like they’re traveling back in time to the 1830s of Missouri. Participants will hearth cooking with historic recipes, make journals, use time period accurate woodworking tools and fiver materials. They’ll be involved in projects that benefit the site and put together take-home projects during the week. Campers do need to bring a sack lunch.

Ages: 11 up to 17

Dates, times and location: June 23 to June 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Lindenwood Boone Home Historic site

Cost: $150

Nature’s Canvas Art Camp

Aspiring artist may discover nature’s beauty at Broemmelsiek Park while creating artwork with paint, clay, fibers and natural objects. Artists should dress appropriately to get messy as they bring their imaginations to reality. Participants should bring a sack lunch, snack, and water bottle as well.

Ages: 11 to 14

Dates, times and location: July 7 to July 11 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Broemmelsiek Park

Cost: $100 which includes all art supplies

Heritage Museum Summer Camp

Historians lead this camp by giving voice to people, places and things from the past. It’s a unique half-day camp giving participants a look into the work of historians and curators. They’ll learn how to research and uncover stories of the past through hands-on experience with items within the Heritage Museum collection. Camper written stories may be displayed for the public and the camp will serve students best whom are interested in history, theater, storytelling, speech and debate.

Ages: 11-17
