ST LOUIS – A St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer has been charged with a class A misdemeanor after allegedly sharing a confidential video.
According to the department, Griffin Montgomery, 30, logged into the Real Time Crime Center, a criminal justice information sharing system, and recorded a traffic incident that involved two women being struck and killed.
He recorded the video onto his personal cell phone, investigators said, before sharing it with others, including those who are not police officers. The video was sent via SnapChat.
Investigators said Montgomery has no ties to the incident. He has been charged with misuse of official information by a public servant.
