ST. LOUIS— Dozens of activists met in Gravois Park for the Women Supporting Women Walk on Saturday afternoon. Event organizers say it was “St. Louis' regional contribution” to the People’s March in Washington D.C., where thousands rallied for reproductive rights, among other issues.
The People’s March 2025 — formerly known nationally as the Women’s March — started eight years ago when President-elect Donald Trump was first sworn into office. Kitty Loepker, who led activists at the St. Louis Women's Walk, said the second Trump term inspired the local movement.
“The upcoming regime is threatening us, unions and everything in between,” Loepker said.
Attendees will finish the march at Bluewood Brewery. From 2p.m. to 4p.m., the brewery will host pop-up shops from women-owned businesses and speakers including Jenny Morris of Voices of American HERstory and Alderwoman Cara Spencer.
