ST. LOUIS — From meeting Santa to holiday shopping, there are several events happening in the St. Louis area this weekend, Dec. 7-8.

Holiday pop-up shop

A holiday pop-up shop will be at Laumeier Sculpture Park Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Those looking for unique gifts can shop local as the pop-up will feature more than 20 St. Louis-area artisan vendors. There also will be food, drinks and fire pits.

Santa in Wildwood

Santa Claus will be at Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. in Wildwood Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Visitors can have their picture taken with Santa and hand deliver their letters to him.

Candlelight Stroll at Faust Park

Visitors can check out old fashioned Christmas decorations at Faust Park’s Historic Village Saturday from 6-9 p.m.

Christmas decorations from the 1800s through the mid-1950s will be on display for visitors to see the evolution of the holiday décor.

Kimmswick Christmas Festival

The Old Fashioned Christmas Festival is Saturday and Sunday in Kimmswick.

The festival will highlight the city’s shops that will be open late, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Visiting hours with Santa will be 2-8 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The River Town Sound Quartet will perform around town Sunday from 1-4 p.m.

Whitmire Wonderlights

Shaw Nature Reserve will host a walk-through holiday light display called Whitmire Wonderlights Saturday and Sunday from 5:30-8 p.m.

The event is a self-guided tour through the Whitmire Wildflower Garden that will be illuminated by holiday lights, accenting the quiet beauty and peace found in nature.

Guests can warm up in the nearby Bascom House after the walk-through with toasty drinks and botanical-inspired crafts.    

Tickets are limited and must be purchased at least 24 hours prior to attending the lightshow.
