ST. LOUIS — With ice skating at Winterfest to the millions of twinkling lights at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, there are several events happening in the St. Louis area this weekend, Nov. 23-24.
Celebrate Santa’s arrival in Downtown Kirkwood Saturday starting at 8:40 a.m.After Santa makes his grand entrance, he will pose for photos inside the train station from 9 a.m. to noon.
Stores in Downtown Kirkwood will offer sales and special offers during the day as well. The Lucille Rapp Tumblers and Dancers will perform at the train station at noon.

The ninth annual Winterfest by the Gateway Park Foundation opens Saturday at Kiener Plaza.An opening day 5K and a one-mile fun run/walk that takes participants on a scenic route through Kiener Plaza starts at 7:30 a.m.
Guests also can enjoy free ice skating from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. There also will be performances, vendors and the Ameren Missouri Festival of Lights at 5 p.m.
A ceremony to switch on the Salvation Army Tree of Lights will take place at 5:40 p.m.

The annual Musial Awards will take place Saturday at the Stifel Theatre beginning at 7 p.m.This year’s honorees are Bob Costas, Larry Fitzgerald Jr., Jaydin Blackwell, Dave Mislan, Lindy Noel, Salvador Perez, Breasha Pruitt, Lake Mary Little League All-Stars and Pitt County Girls Softball.

The final event of the St. Louis Storytelling Festival is Saturday at the Samuel Sachs Branch beginning at 10 a.m.Children and families can discover different ways animals inspire myths and legends across the globe. Attendees will have a chance to meet some live animals.
The event is presented by the World Bird Sanctuary.

The 39th annual Brewery Lights at Anheuser-Busch are back this holiday season.Guests can experience more than a million twinkling lights down Pestalozzi Street. Those 21 and older will be welcomed with a complimentary beer. Children five and under can enter free.
Lights will be on display through December.
A VIP package also is available that includes an assortment of Anheuser-Busch products, s’mores and other campfire favorites.
