JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.—Ed Hasinger, MoDOT's former chief engineer and interim director, has been promoted to Director of MoDOT, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Hasinger has been with the agency for 40 years and served as acting director for the past five years before his promotion. Part of his responsibilities include managing billions of dollars for highway projects, including the work underway to make Interstate 70 four lanes from Wentzville to Blue Springs.
"Hassinger, a native of Columbia and a 1983 graduate of the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, began his MoDOT career in 1984 as a design engineer in the Bridge Division," according to MoDOT's website. "He’s also worked as a traffic engineer, bridge maintenance engineer, and assistant district engineer in the St. Louis District. He served as the District Engineer in the Northeast District in Hannibal and the St. Louis District."
